That there is a free internet site on Flickr that hosts a Manitoba Historical Maps photostream. http://www.flickr.com/photos/manitobamaps/ There are maps dating back as far as 1731 here. Not only are there historical maps, there are also many historical photos of Manitoba. When you find a group of maps that you wish to view, click on the picture of the map. Often there are more than one map/picture in the group. If you see one map/picture that you would like to see close–up, click on that image. To see a larger version of the image, click on the magnifying glass on the top left of the image. You can now see the image in small, medium or large format. From this screen you can also download this image to your own computer. If you would like to see all of the pictures in the set, you can click the slideshow icon on the top right of the screen. This will bring up each picture in order. If you want to have time to look at the image, clicking the double verticle lines at the bottom of the screen will pause the slide show. If you click on the square with the arrows pointing out on the right side, you can view the images in full screen (to reverse this hit escape). To progress through the set of images at your own pace just click your mouse on the right side of the screen to move forward, or on the left side to move back.
